It’s freakin’ freezing out!
Bundle up, Southie!
Congratulations we just broke a record! It’s the coldest Valentine’s Day ever! Yes, that’s right ever! It hasn’t been this cold since 1967 before most of us were born! So the coldest day in our lifetime! It’s -9. Brrrr…..
We say, stay indoors, under warm blankets with someone you love – or at least like. If you are heading out to celebrate Valentines’d Day, bundle up and get to where you’re going quickly. When you first step outside today, you’re like, “Oh, it’s not that bad.” Then the wind blows and the cold hurts your face and you instinctually just start running. It’s scary cold. With the coldest weather of the season, the National Weather Service issued a warning about the symptoms and dangers of frostbite. When frostbite strikes, ice crystals can form on the skin. Then the skin starts feeling warm, even though it hasn’t really defrosted. After that, the skin can turn red, pale or white. Then last but not least, frostbitten skin can turn dark blue, black or gray, and cause pain that can last for hours.
Avoid exposure to the cold air for less than 30 minutes. For the love of God, if you’re freezing, head in doors!
