Bundle up, Southie!

Congratulations we just broke a record!  It’s the coldest Valentine’s Day ever!  Yes, that’s right ever!  It hasn’t been this cold since 1967 before most of us were born!  So the coldest day in our lifetime!  It’s -9.  Brrrr…..

With the coldest weather of the season, the National Weather Service issued a warning about the symptoms and dangers of frostbite. When frostbite strikes, ice crystals can form on the skin. Then the skin starts feeling warm, even though it hasn’t really defrosted.  After that, the skin can  turn red, pale or white. Then last but not least, frostbitten skin can turn dark blue, black or gray, and cause pain that can last for hours.

Avoid exposure to the cold air for less than 30 minutes.  For the love of God, if you’re freezing, head in doors!
