Boston Shines – an organized cleaning and beautifying community event by the City of Boston – is happening on Saturday, May 10th.  It’s suppose to be a gorgeous day out – perfect for pitching in! Here’s how you can get involved:

City Point Neighborhood Association is holding a PARK CLEAN-UP at Medal of Honor (M Street) Park at 8 AM.  Any rakes and garden tools would be helpful!  Kids are invited to help too! Coffee and doughnuts will be served as well as a t-shirt for your efforts (so please reply to let us know you are coming for our t-shirt count). Call with any questions 617-447-1963.

Poop Patrol! The cold and dark days of winter are almost gone.  If you’ve been up to M Street Park lately, you can see the “little gifts” left by dogs and owners turning a blind eye when no one was looking.  Let’s get the park warm weather ready! If you’re a dog owner and would like to lend a hand picking up after those owners who didn’t,  join the poop patrol on Saturday, May 10th to help clean up the park. Although this group love the pooches, they’re encouraging owners to leave them home during this cleanup.  After a few hours of hard work, the group plans to go out for drinks to celebrate a job well done! We raise our glass to this group of good neighbors! No need to RSVP, just show up anytime during the two hour window between 1pm-3pm.

The West Broadway Neighborhood Association along with South Boston Grows will be planting flowers along the Jimmy Kelly Bridge and the Dot Ave Traffic Median. If you would like to join these groups, just show up!  They will be working from 10am-2pm.

The South Boston MOMS Club has organized a clean up of Buckley Park/Playground (on West Third between D and E) at 11 am. Tools and snacks for all volunteers. Everyone loves cookies! If you’d like to help email Meghan Moriarty at [email protected] and Allison Bottomley at [email protected].
