Mass Bay Credit Union has proud to announcee the approval to expand its field-of-membership to include all of Suffolk and Norfolk Counties, in addition to Abington, Everett, Hanover, Hingham, Lynn, Malden, Marshfield, Medford, Melrose, Norwell, Peabody, Rockland, Saugus, Scituate, Somerville, Stoneham, and Whitman. Anyone who lives or works in any of these municipalities is now eligible to open an account or take out a loan and join the credit union.
The new community expansion opens the door to Mass Bay membership to nearly 2 million residents, according to 2010 census figures, who can now take advantage of a cooperative banking, not-for-profit structure that offers better interest rates and lower fees, while maintaining the highest coverage of federal deposit insurance allowed by law. “We believe our community will be greater served with this expansion,” says Mass Bay Credit Union CEO John Thomas. “Our members enjoy the same state-of-the-art banking services offered by the area’s biggest financial institutions, but with more competitive pricing and more attentive personal service.
