Matt & Ben depicts its Hollywood golden boys – before fame and fortune. Before J-Lo, before Gwyneth, before Project Greenlight, before the Oscar. When the screenplay for Good Will Hunting drops mysteriously from the heavens, the boys realize they’re being tested by a Higher Power.
Matt & Ben is an hour-long, full-length comedy play presented by South Boston Theater Works, founded by Brenny O’Brien. Performances will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the South Boston Neighborhood House. You can get your tickets here!
History of the Play
Matt & Ben was first presented Off-Broadway by Victoria Lang and Pier Piccoli, Stephen Pevner and Jason Hsiao, at P.S. 122 in New York City on July 27, 2003, where it played until May 2004. It was directed by David Warren and starred the authors, Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers. Other major productions include the New York International Fringe Festival, Aspen Comedy Festival, LA’s Acme Theatre, Chicago’s Theatre Building, and Toronto’s Poor Alex Theatre.
