A little girl on a BIG journey
Don’t be alarmed if you see a 12-foot-tall puppet in the neighborhood. It’s just Little Amal! Little Amal is a large-scale puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl. After a 5000-mile journey across Europe in 2021, Amal has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees.
On Wednesday, she’s starting her 6,000-mile hike across the United States in Dewey Square. More than 35 towns and cities from Boston to San Diego and 1,000+ artists and arts organizations will create 100+ free public events to welcome her.
