To Our South Boston Community,

The world looks very different today than when Colin was here. So much has changed, but your support for us has not. We are moved and touched by the little and big things that people still do to let us know that Colin lives in their hearts and that we are not alone. As our family learns to find joy again we still have our hard days, and the fact that you continue to hold us up means the world to us.

In the coming year, we look forward to seeing the many ways Colin’s legacy lives on in Colin’s Joy Project and your hearts. We have established partnerships with 6 local community organizations focused on supporting children and family programming. The 4 play spaces that we are working on with the City of Boston’s Parks & Recreation Department, the MA Department of Conservation & Recreation, and South Boston Catholic Academy should start taking shape this year. We know we aren’t alone in wanting to gather together again to celebrate these accomplishments!

These times are challenging and it is easy to focus on the negatives around us. We hope our vision that Colin inspired – to live each day with pure joy in your heart – can help everyone see brightness on dark days, hope for better times ahead, and find moments of gratitude in each day. We know we are incredibly grateful to be a part of a community like ours!

With gratitude,
The McGrath Family
