Big News

We’re loving this collaboration between Yellow Door Taqueria and pastry renegade Kate Holowchik’s Lionheart Confections.  This weekend (Saturday, Sept. 18th + 19th,) Lionheart Confections will bring its deliciously brave and bold pastry to brunch service at Boston’s award winning Taqueria in the form of a Choco Taco Doughnut – sold exclusively at both the South End and Lower Mills location (while they last!)  Lionheart’s Choco Taco Doughnut creation is a half moon shaped vanilla brioche filled with vanilla bean pastry cream, dipped in chocolate-peanut ganache and garnished with a waffle cone tuile (a thin crispy cookie!)  Doughnuts will be priced at $7.00 each and available until they run out.

Halowchik, an award winning pastry chef, has earned a cult like following in the city especially among those seeking out her doughnuts at brunches and occasional pop ups.  Last year, faced with a pandemic-induced professional crossroads, she made the decision to finally go out on her own and officially launched Lionheart Confections.  The name Lionheart pays homage to the countless women in service and culinary industry who are strong, brave and tenacious as well as her astrological sign of a Leo.  Halowchik’s signature pastry style of playful, bold and flavor forward are evident in all of Lionheart’s sweet treats, donuts and confections.

Yellow Door Taqueria’s weekend brunch service is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am – 4pm and features an array and Cali-Mex inspired breakfast offerings alongside the restaurant’s signature award-winning tacos.  For more information or to make a reservation please visit www.yellowdoortaqueria.com or engage them socially @YellowDoorTaco.
