What the heck happened?

We were so excited to see Stella Express open (and doing well) at the corner of B and Broadway.  Longtime South End chef Evan Deluty from Stella ventured into the food truck biz back in August and featured a menu of breakfast sandwiches, salads, and Italian dishes. And people were loving it….then it closed.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Stella Express was told that it can no longer operate at that location. Who told Deluty to stop and why can’t he operate are questions we are trying to get to the bottom of.  (We’ve reached out to the City of Boston and Deluty himself to shed some light on the situation.)

Deluty has started a petition stating the following:

Help save Stella Express in South Boston! We recently were disappointed to learn that we were being instructed to cease serving on the corner of West Broadway and B Street. But, we are hoping to change some minds and we need your help! Please sign this online petition and, if possible, leave a short note when you sign about how how much you’d like to see us resume food truck operations in Southie.

You can sign the petition here.
