Chef Lambert “Lambo” Givens from South Boston’s Hunter’s Kitchen + Bar is heading back to the small screen to compete.

According to a post on social media, Givens will compete on Guy Fieri’s new Food Network series, Flavortown Food Fight on Wednesday night.

Givens is no stranger to cooking competitions. He’s previously appeared on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, and now he’s taking on a new challenge in Flavortown.

The new series features chefs battling it out in a rotating lineup of unexpected restaurant concepts — from food carts to fine dining — with the winner scoring a $20,000 prize.

Givens is well known for putting a refined spin on Southern comfort food, especially his legendary gumbo loaded with shrimp, crab, andouille sausage, and Charleston rice

“Flavortown Food Fight” featuring Givens will air at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, on Food Network. The episode will be available to stream the following day on HBO Max and Discovery+.
