69 L Street is now home to the wildly popular Chilacates!  This Mexican street food restaurant has many other locations in the Boston area, including Brighton, Brookline, Roslindale, and Mission Hill, with South Boston becoming the newest neighborhood spot!

Chilacates, named for a Mexican pepper, will feature tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesdillas, tortas and more!

We hear Chilacates will also serve beer and wine too! It will be a welcomed addition to the City Point neighborhood!

The space at 69 L Street has been vacant since a fire closed Tasty Burger back in 2018.

I’ve been waiting for good/cheap mexican food in this neighborhood for so long. Honesty kind of lacks in takeout in general so this is an awesome step in the right direction. I don’t even want to know how much extra money I’ve spent on getting chilacates delivered to southie over the years but now I’ll (hopefully) never have to again!

The Galley at P & Second is a great breakfast place, They feature honey baked ham off the bone & eggs, it’ll cost you more than$7.99 but it’s worth it. It’s ironic that The City Point association opposed a classy sit down Mexican restaurant proposed in the new building at L & Broadway yet they were silent about a glorified Taco Bell less than 50 yards away? . Beer, burritos and evening brawls coming soon to L & 4th Street.
