Boston, MA – February 20, 2024 – Yume Ga Arukara, known for its fresh, house-made Japanese udon noodles and immersive counter-service in Porter Square, is excited to announce the opening of its new location in Boston Seaport. The highly-anticipated restaurant is now open. Customers will enjoy the same renowned udon noodles in addition to innovative dishes in a chic new minimalist space.

Yume Ga Arukara, in Japanese means “Because I Have Dream”; co-founders Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Juan Carlos Vidal proudly opened Yume in 2016 to share authentic Japanese noodles with the community. In 2018, the restaurant was recognized as the 8th Best New Restaurant in America by Bon Appetit and has continued to serve perfectly prepared, fresh Japanese udon to locals and tourists, earning a die-hard following. Tokyo-born and Boston-raised Executive Chef Tomohiro Shinoda, applies his sweeping skills in noodle-making to harmonize Japanese techniques and flavors with personal creativity and experiences.

Over the years, Chef Shinoda has refined his ability to hand make fresh ramen, soba, and udon from scratch. Through various Japanese noodle shop experiences and rigorous training, Chef Shinoda is in the pursuit to serve the perfect noodle. Yume Ga Arukara prepares every batch of noodles with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring peak freshness and quality for each diner. Don’t forget to try the house made chili oil, which requires months of tweaking to reach an irresistible balance of heat and flavor needed to compliment the Classic Niku Udon.

The Seaport location allows Yume Ga Arukara to grow its community by sharing passion and liveliness through the food. Upon entering the 1,000 square feet dining area, with a capacity for 20 guests, customers will be greeted by the minimalist ambiance, designed by Paul Yu of Boston-based People Architects, including a custom oak countertop that overlooks the open kitchen allowing for guests to interact with the chefs. With a space that is suitable for a longer, dine-in experience, guests will find an expanded menu including all of the classic noodle dishes that are served at the original location, as well as tempura, other deep fried starters, and Biang Biang Mazesoba, a dish that is inspired by Taiwan Mazesoba and Xi’an Biang Biang Noodles. New to the menu is dipping udon noodles that are classic cold noodles served with a concentrated dipping broth that is filled with meat and other toppings. Beer, wine, and sake are available.

“The Seaport area has grown and continued to evolve rapidly within the past few years and we are excited to join this neighborhood that is sprawling with new businesses, restaurants, visitors, and residents,” said Juan Carlos Vidal, owner of Yume Ga Arukara. “You can feel the buzz and infectious energy here and we look forward to the opportunity to spread our perfect depiction of Japanese udon to the masses.”

“Boston Seaport welcomes Yume Ga Arukara with open arms. Their Japanese udon offerings promise to bring a unique and delectable dining experience to our vibrant community,” shares Ariel Foxman, VP, Brand & Experience Boston Seaport.

Yume Ga Arukara is located at 70 Pier 4 Boulevard in the Seaport. For more information and updates, please visit www.yumegaarukara.com.
