New to the Neighborhood: The Essex Bringing Elevated Dining and a Rooftop Bar to South Boston

South Boston has a new culinary hotspot: The Essex, now open at 6 West Broadway inside the Cambria Hotel.
Led by acclaimed restaurateur Kristen Jenkins—known for the beloved 1928 Beacon Hill—The Essex features a menu crafted by Chef Polit Castillo, whose global culinary background brings a creative twist to seasonal ingredients.
The real showstopper? The rooftop. With panoramic views of the Boston skyline, it’s the perfect spot for sipping handcrafted cocktails as the sun sets over the city.
The Essex is open daily for dinner from 4:00 PM to midnight, with breakfast service on weekdays from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM and weekends from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
