🌸 facts & finds 🌸
for those visiting South Boston ☘️ I heard about this young, motivated, dynamic, intelligent, attractive woman from Springfield that decided to follow her childhood dreams of opening a italian gourmet foods store … The Dirty Italian 💚🤍❤️ it’s located on Old Colony Ave in Southie ….Ironworker’s Local 7 union hall is located just across and down the street from there … so having a 5pm meeting last night down there I decided to give it a try ordering the larger size Bada boom …. I ordered off menu …chicken and eggplant parm with fresh mozzarella on a toasted grinder….. they are called subs in Boston and if you want to pretend you a lifetime Southie resident call it a spuckie…. she choose a braided bread with or without sesame seeds .. it perfectly complimented the ingredients…. thick enough to handle the sauce yet light and airy with a awesome textured crust … along with grinders you can choose from assorted prepared entries, there are assorted salads as well as imported cheeses… if your hosting an event, party or gathering there are also catering options … appetizers, hot & cold luncheons, assorted salads, entrees & hot pans… you also have the option to order assorted size charcuterie boards… she will also be hosting cooking & charcuterie classes… I want to wish the owner Talya Pessolano the best of luck with her brick & morter ❤️ p.s. don’t forget to buy a shirt!!
This place looks good, kinda unassuming.
but the name , makes it blah.
Dirty Italian..?
Remember “chuck and Ann’s”?
“Phil’s take out”?….
Even “John’s subs” on old colony Ave. was nick named “dirty John’s”,
But that was because it was dirty.
This new place needs a better name.
Congratulations Talya !! ❤ Best of luck on an exciting new venture!
Southie won’t be disappointed!!! Talya you are incredible and I can not wait to come in!!!! Boston has no clue what they are about to experience !!
Who in the world thought tgst was a good name for. Budiness. I’m not Italian, but I find it offensive snd would never go there.
it means an Italian sub with the works.
This new restaurant sounds like a good place, with some delicious food, but the name of it is awfully offensive-sounding. if I were a person of Italian heritage, I’d certainly be offended by the name given to that restaurant.
A dirty Italian means an italian sub with everything in the biz.
Love the Name!!!! Being 100% Italian ! Very creative menu too and looking forward to having an italian deli in Southie!! Best of Luck!
Wow!!!!! Went to the opening and it did not disappoint. The menu look so good , I wanted everything, lol. Love the NAME and plan on going back with friends. Such a cool vibe too! So happy for our neighborhood in Southie!
Nice article and we plan on checking “The Dirty Italian” out this week. Cool Story and love the Name of her store too. Best of Luck and exciting location.
So so good! I came in today and I already plan on coming back on Tuesday!!!! Love the store and your Dirty Italian Logo! Best of Luck in Southie!
Use it on the menu for the sandwich, but as the name of the establishment? Yikes.
Maybe consider ‘The Saucy Italian’ in the future?
$13 for a sub? What a ripoff!
Amazing sandwiches and affordable prices! Those cheesecake brownies were a delicious treat too. I’ll be back at least once a week as I walk by everyday to work. Cool selection of freezer items that I must try. Happy to have this spot on Old Colony Ave. Your store is very nice and hope you have continued success! The Dirty Italian is the best!!
Wow!!! Walked in today to the sound of cool italian music, perfect for this store. So many choices it was hard to choose but I went with Talya’s Dirty Italian. I could only eat half because it got me full and my co-worker ate the other half. We both will be returning! The prices are reasonable too and all those treats at the checkout , oh boy! Yum Yum. Your store name is unique/coolD and next time I’ll buy one of your cool T-Shirts.
