Mother’s East Expands with New Weekend Lunch Service

Mother’s East is giving Southie another reason to love the weekend. The neighborhood tavern is now serving lunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The new menu puts a fresh spin on tavern favorites, featuring house-baked English muffins with homemade raspberry jam, potato batter pancakes (available sweet or topped with caviar), locally caught scrod fish & chips, a corned beef pastrami sandwich, lump crab toast, and the restaurant’s popular double smash burger with hand-cut fries.

Mother’s East is a modern neighborhood tavern in South Boston from husband-and-wife team Alec Barber and Laura Fryer alongside Executive Chef David Quinlan. Inspired by the timeless public houses of New England, England and Ireland, Mother’s East blends thoughtful hospitality, historic design and ingredient-driven cooking into a welcoming gathering place for the neighborhood. The menu draws on Chef Quinlan’s Southern upbringing, Irish heritage and years spent in acclaimed fine dining kitchens, bringing refined technique to familiar tavern classics made with seasonal ingredients and careful craftsmanship.
Open Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m.–1 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.–1 a.m., Mother’s East serves weekend lunch beginning at 11 a.m. and dinner daily.
