After eight years of serving some of South Boston’s favorite cocktails, sandwiches, and shared plates, Roza Lyons is ready for outdoor dining season. Owner Rob Fitzharris and his team look forward to welcoming newcomers as well as their regular crowds to come by and share in the good food and company that Roza Lyons has become known for.
We caught up with Fitzharris to check in on how the restaurant is evolving and what to expect as warmer weather arrives. Check out our Q + A!
For those who aren’t familiar, what types of people visit Roza Lyons?
I think the types of people who visit Roza Lyons range from young kids to young adults and the elderly. In other words, there are a variety of ages who come in to dine with us. In addition, many of the regular customers come in to watch the news from our televisions or are looking for a space to chat with family and friends.
How has Roza Lyons evolved since the first opening in 2016?
I think that ever since we moved to South Boston, we have made a mark in the neighborhood. Since the opening of 2016, we’ve had our ups and downs with COVID and attracting different customers. COVID put a dent in our restaurant for some time but ever since our outdoor dining opened, customers were more comfortable with sitting outside and enjoying a good meal. Another way Roza Lyons has evolved since our opening is the amount of different clientele that would come into our place. The Roza Lyons establishment has definitely made a good mark here in the city!
What do you love most about your team?
So we opened in 2016 and before that, and so when the space became available I took a leap of faith. My favorite part is working for myself. It’s A lot of stress at times but it is very rewarding when working with a good staff. I certainly don’t do it on my own as I have a great amount of people working with me. The team is so loyal and even during the hard times we are able to get through it!
Is there anything else you want readers to know?
We have a lot to offer! Lyons is not just a sports bar, it is a spectacular restaurant with great food! The diverse menu and great staff make it so that everyone feels comfortable!
Make a plan to have lunch, dinner, brunch or just drink at Roza Lyon’s outdoor patio this season!

Robbie is the best. That picture doesn’t do him justice, he’s one handsome dude. He supports every Southie charity going. Great food & great atmosphere. The crowd is comprised of Cops, firemen,, union workers, high tech & finance execs. Everyone is welcome & comfortable at Rosa Lyons. A great owner creates a great establishment.
