We have to admit we have felt the void of the closing of My Diner – legendary breakfast and lunch hot spot on A Street in Southie.  How many hangovers have we suffered without one of their delicious bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches!

Well, guess what?  Word on the street is My Diner has found a new location at 545 East Eighth Street!  Oh boy, would we be so excited to see that happen.

An abutters meeting (surrounding neighbors) will take place on Monday, September 26th at 6:45pm at the location.

Our fingers are crossed!

What a great addition to the neighborhood! As an abutter, I will be in full support. Can’t wait to meet my fellow neighbors for a cup of coffee.

As an abutter as well….I do support it….but they will have to figure out parking as Mike W mentions and deliveries as well. With the 11 buses running down the street, they barely can get by each other as is. Make E 8th 1 way?

I would love this for the neighborhood! Such a cheap local spot for breakfast. It’s a neighborhood spot we can all walk to… wouldn’t need parking.

I would love to see My Diner come to E Eighth St.! If they still plan to be open for just breakfast and lunch, the parking will be fine, we’re talking 6AM to 3 PM when there are lots of spaces available now. It is so close to the beach and there are spaces open there as well. Also, it’s a rather small diner, so its a relatively small number of cars needing parking spots.

My Diner is a great place every month I would meet for breakfast with Atty Bill McDermott. Wonderful. Do miss him and will miss original location
