making every day brighter with not-your-average sandwiches

Big news, sandwich lovers, the wildly popular North End spot, Sunny Girl, is opening at Perkins Square in the old McGoo’s Pizza location! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sunny Girl, you’re in for a real treat! This sandwich shop will serve up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features everything from a breakfast grilled cheese to burgers! You can check out their menu here!

Judging by the new signage that went up on Wednesday, it looks like they’ll be opening soon!  We’ll keep you posted!

The back story:

Chef/owner Jesse Rosen (CIA, Burnt Edge Pizza, Good Life) and owner Peter Fiumara (Good Life, Vinyl Index) started Sunny Girl with their girls in mind, their daughters, Fiumara’s 9-year-old Ryan and Rosen’s newborn Ava. Fiumara’s favorite part of the day is sharing breakfast with Ryan before school, so the Sunny Girl team wants to spread that love, serving the North End Waterfront’s early risers, commuters, and visitors Rosen’s super-unique breakfast (and housemade english muffins) and lunch sandwiches, every day from open to close.

Make sure to follow Sunny Girl on Instagram for the latest!

The official location is 479 West Broadway in South Boston. See ya there!

Wasn’t a dental office supposed to go in where McGoo’s was? Maybe I have that mixed up with something else.

Tend – a dentist office – is next door. Maybe you are thinking of that.

I’ve known for months, should’ve asked me. Seriously though this is terrible news. I love the staff at the North End location and I’m sad I’ll lose them to Southie.

We’ve known too and was told to keep it quiet for now.
