City Tap Throws It Back to Y2K for Four-Day Labor Day Bash
Fort Point hotspot hosts millennium-themed event to mark end-of-summer
Break out those babydoll and rhinestone-encrusted t-shirts because City Tap House is throwing it back to the year 2000 this Labor Day weekend. For four days, the Fort Point hotspot will celebrate trends that marked Y2K from Paris’ Juicy Couture tracksuits to Britney’s low-rise jeans and Christina’s mini hairclips. Because we can’t forget Mariah, snap a pic beneath the balloon arch adorned with butterflies while holding an old school cell phone (Razr, anyone?) or by neon signs that made any dorm room enviable.
Decked with millennium-themed décor, the party kicks off on Friday night with an evening of nostalgia with live DJ entertainment (cue Eminem, Destiny’s Child, Pink and talents from the Bad Boy label). On Saturday, dress to impress for a hangover brunch with more ‘00s throwbacks, where the best dressed will take home a gift card. On Sunday, grab your squad for a Y2K trivia brunch complete with a DJ spinning the best of the turn-of-the-century and on Monday, close out the weekend with a final holiday brunch with a DJ behind the turntables.
Throughout the four-day affair, order up one of the 2000-inspired cocktails like the Total Request LIME, a cherry-lime spritz; a Jock Jams Volume Colada, a tropics-inducing piña colada; and Dial Up the Heat, a hot-as-fire spicy margarita. During brunch Saturday through Monday, there are Waffles topped with Gushers and French Toast Sticks paired with a Dunkaroos dipper and topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
