Celebrate National Dessert Day in South Boston

Did someone say dessert?!?! Saturday, Oct. 14th is National Dessert Day! Here are some of my Southie favorites to inspire your celebration!
Capo
Capo desserts are some of my all-time favorites. I think I have had the Torta Di Chocolate for every birthday since they have been open. One time, after one too many drinks, I was complimenting the Tiramisu so much that the bartender sent out the pastry chef. Insider’s tip – Capo is offering an apple pie making class this month!
Bar Volpe
Keeping with the Italian theme, Bar Volpe has delicious options. They have an amazing Olive Oil Cake. I know it sounds odd but it is so good! Also, the Strawberry Cannoli is amazing.
Hunters
Every time I go to Hunter’s, I have to get the beignets! They are so light and fluffy. The chocolate sauce to dip them in is life-changing.
Moonshine 152
Moonshine’s butterscotch pudding is delicious. And I know you are thinking of butterscotch pudding?…But it is amazing and nostalgic, so you can’t go wrong. The seasonal special is a pumpkin pistachio baklava crinkle, which sounds so good!
Publico
In addition to their delicious carrot cake, Publico has several other desserts you should definitely try! Oreo cheesecake, yes, please! Coffee and donuts, sure! Publico also has delicious chocolate chip cookies served with either a glass of vanilla milk or substitute vanilla ice cream!
Chilacates
The churros from Chilacates are my most ordered dessert. I have to get them every time I order. The best part is the dulce de leche dipping sauce. It is far superior to the chocolate sauce.
Mastros
Have you had the Butter Cake at Mastro’s? It’s legendary. Buttery deliciousness topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries!
Espresso Martini
I don’t know if this counts but my favorite dessert is drinkable. And espresso martinis deserved to be celebrated every day. I love to have one on the rocks after every meal. My favorites are from Capo, Petula’s, and Publico’s.

Her perfect day would be going on a stroll to get a coffee, followed by lunch at Loco, then drinks at Hunter’s, and grabbing a slice of pizza for the walk home.
Hi there! Those desserts look amazing, but I have to admit that, since I’m a chocolate lover, that chocolate layer cake with the chocolate frosting really caught my eye–and got my mouth watering!! Wheee!
