Bar Volpe opening this weekend
New to the neighborhood
Karen Akunowicz — James Beard Best Chef Northeast and owner of Fox & the Knife – is opening another restaurant in the neighborhood! Bar Volpe will feature Southern Italian cuisine – think seafood, vegetables and of course, pasta!
The 5200 square foot restaurant will feature a wood fire oven and a glassed encased pasta shop and will be located in the old Backyard Betty’s spot on West Broadway – just blocks from Fox & the Knife!
The restaurant has 110 seats and a 25-seat bar and will open its doors on Saturday, November 6th at 4:30pm

I went there last night and was turned away because I didn’t have my vaccination card? WTH? Are kidding me? It’s bad enough that Mayor Wu is doing all she can to kill the restaurant business in the city with her city-wide proof of vaccine card on 1/15 but Bare Woke (my new name for Bar Volpe) decided to put their own mandate in on Jan 1 without notifying anyone of the rule. They don’t answer the phone when you call anyway even during business hours and it’s not on their website. As an FYI..I am fully vaxed but didn’t have a pic of my card because I was aware of the Jan 15th rule. Good grief. I will be taking my business anywhere but Bar Woke and The Fox and Knife.
