In the ever-expanding landscape of places to eat and drink in Southie, a new addition is coming our way!  Backyard Betty’s will be opening at 172-174 West Broadway in the spring!

According to Zagat, the team that brought us Publico – Dave Mateo, Dave Winick and Theo Bougas are behind this new 150—seat restaurant that will feature “American classics and backyard cookout cuisine” like Nashville hot fried chicken, hushpuppies, steak tips and soft serve ice cream.

We can’t wait!

15 Seat or 15 table? I think you’ve got it mixed up.

Shredded looked like they were having a training session going on when I walked by last night around 5PM, maybe they will be open by the weekend.

Backyard Bettys also has a sign up outside the front door that they are also currently hiring.

Send some of those Asian joints out here to the Point. There are exactly none.

15 seats? What do they plan on having a few high tops and a booth or two?

Lol right? that’s what I’m saying….Can’t be right. It has a pretty sizable footprint in that building.

Perhaps you should use your expertise with the city to ban it and leave it as an abandoned lot. You’d like that, right? No progress? Perhaps a Liberty cheesesteak will come back in your dreams to feed your nostalgia.
