Anna’s Taqueria Opens in Southie with $3.50 Burritos on May 26

Serving the region’s most beloved burritos for over 30 years, Anna’s Taqueria opens 14th location in South Boston
BOSTON, MA (May 22, 2026) – Anna’s Taqueria – the homegrown brand that has been delivering warm bundles of burritos, tacos and quesadillas as well as heaping Mexican bowls and salads for over 30 years – will open its doors May 26 in South Boston. To welcome guests to its newest home, Anna’s Southie location will be dishing out their legendary SUPER burritos at its original 1995 pricing for one day only.
Debuting along West Broadway, Anna’s Taqueria’s newest outpost features a bright and welcoming 3,000 square foot dining space complete with high-top communal tables, booths and traditional table seating options for 36 guests. Anna’s Taqueria carefully prepares every order using the finest and freshest ingredients including a lineup of signature proteins like birria, carnitas, al pastor, and more. For a limited time, guests can chomp for a cause on the Big Papi Burrito – a super-sized, David Ortiz-designed creation with chipotle-smothered steak, cheese, Mexican rice, sweet peppers, fajita veggies, sliced avocado, queso fresco, pinto beans, cilantro and onions – where $1 from each burrito is donated to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund. Just in time for summer, guests will be delighted to see an Anna’s cult favorite back on the menu – the refreshing watermelon agua fresca – a beverage acclaimed for its crisp, natural sweetness, made with only fresh watermelon that is hand pressed daily.
On its opening day, Anna Taqueria will dial back the hands of time and offer its SUPER burritos – 12″ fresh hot flour tortillas customized to your taste and packed with a main filling, cheese, rice, beans, lettuce, pico, hot sauce and jalapeños – at its 1995 pricing, $3.50* per oversized bundle of love. Rounding out the festivities will be a prize wheel, a Magic Mirror photobooth delivering keepsake images, as well as Anna’s swag like stickers and tote bags. Bonus: The first 100 guests through the door on May 26 will score a limited-edition Anna’s Southie t-shirt.
Inspired by San Francisco’s Mission District, Anna’s Taqueria was first conceived with the goal of bringing the homestyle flavor of Mexican street food to the people while celebrating community. Recently having opened its first location in Rhode Island (Cranston), Anna’s soon will continue its exciting expansion in southern New England with its first location in New Hampshire (Concord) slated to open over the summer.
Anna’s Taqueria is located at 457 West Broadway in South Boston. For more information, please call (617) 830-8228 or visit www.annas.com. For access to exclusive insider perks, which currently includes a BOGO burrito upon enrollment, download the Anna’s Taqueria app.
