American Provision expanding to Dorchester
Is Dorchester the new Southie? No, of course not, it will never be Southie but it certainly is following us down the gentrification path. In addition to soaring real estate prices, Dorchester has seen a few new businesses opening with Southie ties. Lucy’s American Tavern (Playwright), Dorsett Hall (Shenanigan’s) and now American Provisions will be opening up its second location in Dorchester!
According to Boston Magazine, the specialty cheese, meat and grocery shop will open on the ground level of the Treadmark building, which has 83 housing units and two other retail spaces on Dorchester Avenue. They hope to be open by the summer of 2017.
American Provisions opened in South Boston at the corner of I and East Broadway back in 2010 and has proven to be a local favorite. It won Best Gourmet Shop in 2013 and Best Cheese Shop in 2016 by Boston Magazine.
Congrats to Andy and Matt from American Provisions on their expansion – but don’t forget your roots!
