40 Years of Sal’s Ristorante and Pizzeria: A Neighborhood Favorite Celebrates

Congratulations to the LoGrasso family as Sal’s Ristorante and Pizzeria celebrates 40 years in business! Located on the corner of L and 8th, the neighborhood staple first opened in 1986 as Sal & Betty’s, a small sub shop started by siblings Sal and Betty.  Does anyone remember sauce subs?

Over the past four decades, Sal, Filomena, Calo, and the entire family have grown the business into South Boston’s go-to spot for catering, homemade Italian specialties, gelato, Richie’s Slush, and those famous rice balls that have even been featured on national TV numerous times.

The wildly popular spot has also expanded with a second location, Sal’s On the Lagoon.

Here’s to 40 years of bringing “A Touch of Sicily to Southie.”

Congratulations to the entire family on an incredible milestone!
