Free BlueBikes for World Mental Health Day
Did you know that 30 minutes or more of exercise three to five days a week may significantly improve an individual’s mental health and reduce depression and anxiety?For the third year in a row, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is recognizing World Mental Health Day (10/10) and supporting health and wellness within the community by sponsoring free Bluebikes rides on Monday, October 10th! Riders interested in a World Mental Health day ride can download the Bluebikes App on a mobile device and selecting “Adventure Pass.” To recognize the importance of supporting friends and family on their mental health, the initiative also includes a “Take a ride, Give a ride” offer, which provides all Bluebikes riders on World Mental Health Day with a unique code for one free single trip pass to share with a friend or family member.
Fort Point Open Studios

South Boston Library – Special exhibit
Stop by the Southie Library and check out this new exhibit – Southie Then and Now – A Neighborhood Transformed by local artist Jared Katsiane. The branch will host a community forum on Thursday, October 13th from 6pm-7:45pm to discuss the challenges of community growth. There will be an informal discussion between leaders of community organizations, elected officials and resident.
The Great Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium is coming to the neighborhood
The only words capable of justifying the excitement to be experienced at The Great Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium is “Absolutely Outrageous”. Mr. B.S. Swindler AKA Mr. Swindle hosts his captivating 90-minute extravaganza delighting his audience with an unparalleled exhibition of classic vintage amusement, live acrobats and comedy. The show will take place under the big top on the grounds of Harpoon Brewery. The Drink-Ory Garden will feature eccentric beer, wine and food from The Harpoon Brewery! Featured brews include the Harpoon IPA, Rec League, and ‘“The Swindler,’” an exclusive beer brewed just for the show! The Harpoon Brewery will also be serving up delicious dishes and savory snacks such as handmade pretzels, handmade pretzel dogs, pizza, popcorn and more!
