a new design blog
Hello there from Miggy and Roisin, shop keepers and interior designers behind Twelve Chairs. We opened up our shop and studio back in September in an old industrial loft in the Fort Point neighborhood of South Boston. Our hope is to be a resource for residents in all things interiors by stocking our shop with beautiful pieces for the home and offering a full range of design services.
Having both grown up with a great interest in art and design, our paths fortuitously crossed while at Cornell studying interior design. Post graduation, we went our separate ways and worked in creative corporate environments, but something was missing. Call it fate, destiny, or just dumb luck, but we simultaneously came to crossroads in our careers and the timing was just right to go out on our own, together. When the light bulb went off for a collaboration involving a boutique/ interiors business, we hit the pavement and never looked back.
