Westin Seaport Hotel Evacuated After Small Fire Overnight
Boston firefighters responded to the Westin Boston Seaport District at 424 Summer St. around midnight after a small fire broke out inside the Westin hotel.
According to the Boston Fire Department, the fire started behind a refrigerator unit in a first-floor store and was knocked down by the building’s sprinkler system.
Due to smoke in the building, the hotel was evacuated as a precaution. Firefighters used fans to clear the smoke from the lobby, and guests were eventually allowed to return inside.
No injuries were reported.
