“The Walking Dead: Dead City” filming in South Boston this week.

Did you see any zombies while you were walking the island on Thursday night or Friday morning? Don’t worry, the apocalypse is not upon us; it was just the wildly popular series The Walking Dead, specifically The Walking Dead: Dead City, filming at Fort Independence on Castle Island.
According to one witness, in addition to lights, cameras, and other filming equipment, a large faux military presence was also present during the filming. Maybe Fort Independence is playing double for a fort to keep the dead out. They were also spotted filming around the McKay monument. We also heard “Maggie Greene,” played by Lauren Cohan, was on set.
The AMC series has been filming scenes in Worcester, Brockton, and downtown Boston. All doubling as New York City.
