New on the Horizon: Hamersley’s Pantry

Hamersley’s Pantry is bringing something special to the neighborhood, a modern-day market that blends heart, history, and a deep love of good food. It’s a continuation of what the Hamersley family built years ago, now reimagined for today’s South Boston community. Owner Sophie Dunn is the daughter of the owners of the legendary Hamersley’s Bistro in the South End.

Designed as a neighborhood spot for discovery, Hamersley’s Pantry is stocked with carefully selected pantry staples, snacks, and gifts from emerging food brands shaking things up. It’s the kind of place where food feels both approachable and inspiring, where you can grab a few ingredients that make weeknight cooking feel exciting again.

Whether you’re popping in for dinner inspiration, a last-minute hostess gift, or your next snack obsession, Hamersley’s Pantry is meant to be part of your everyday routine. The philosophy is simple: the right ingredients make all the difference. No fussy recipes here, just the good stuff. Think Calabrian chilis that wake up a chicken dinner, brownie mix that earns you bragging rights, or the hot sauce you’ll end up putting on everything.

Four categories make up the heart of the store via Hamersley’s:

● Sweet Treats: Brownie mixes that make you look like a hero, craft ice creams you won’t find at Whole Foods, and cookies from small-batch makers who actually care about flavor. The kind of stuff that disappears before you can offer it to guests.

● Saucy Stuff: The Calabrian chili that saves boring chicken, the hot sauce you’ll put on eggs (and everything else), and condiments from indie makers that make you forget what Heinz tastes like. Big flavor, zero compromise.

● Snacky Snacks: Chips, crisps, and crunchy things from people rethinking the snack aisle. No dry, boring crackers here, just genuinely good snacks you’ll crave.

● Pantry Picks: Olive oil that actually tastes like olives, pasta that doesn’t need much else, and spices that make you wonder what you’ve been missing. Plus…

● Grab & Go: Lasagnas, sausages, and frozen pizzas for nights when cooking feels like too much. Fresh bread and flowers for good measure.

● Homeware and gifts: Glassware, cookbooks, cards, and candles. Favorite finds for hosting, gifting, and everyday living.

We can’t wait!

Hamersley’s Pantry is hoping to open in December at 341 West Broadway! Make sure to follow them on Instagram here!  Plus, they are partnering with NuMarket to help me stock the shelves!  You can learn more here!

Loved HB. Had many great meals and times there.
Lucky enough to be there on one of the very last nights it was open.
    Still miss it.
Welcome to Southie Sophie. Wish you every success. Cheers!
