About Gianni Russo:
Best known for his iconic role as Carlo Rizzi in The Godfather—his very first acting role—Gianni Russo has built a remarkable career playing tough guys on screen. His filmography includes over 40 movies, with standout roles in The Freshman, Rush Hour, Any Given Sunday, and Seabiscuit, alongside TV appearances in Kojak, The Rockford Files, and Prison Break. His latest project, Send No Flowers, is set for release this fall.
But it’s not just acting that defines Gianni Russo—it’s his passion for music. A talented crooner, Russo’s debut album Reflections pays tribute to legends like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, who were both personal and professional inspirations. The album, available on iTunes and Amazon, even features a bonus track where Russo shares behind-the-scenes stories from the set of The Godfather. Performing across the country to sold-out audiences with his orchestra, Russo brings his life’s musical influences to the stage. His follow-up album was released in 2010, and his Gianni Russo Wines label has been enjoyed nationwide since 2009.
Born in Manhattan and raised in Little Italy and Staten Island, Russo’s life is a testament to resilience. Overcoming polio as a child, he launched his first “business” at just twelve, selling pens and erasers on street corners. By eighteen, he was drawn to Miami’s nightlife scene, where he began dabbling in show business before pursuing his acting career full-time.
