City Tap Hosts “Staycation at Our House” in Honor of National Rum Day

This weekend, City Tap House is infusing some flavors of the tropics to their “Staycation at Our House” three-day event. Coinciding with National Rum Day (August 16), the Fort Point hotspot will be decked in calypso-themed décor complete with floral leis for attendees.

While getting inked with a complimentary pirate-themed henna tattoo, sip cocktail specials from Friday through Sunday including a Blueberry Mojito ($13) with Diplomático rum, mint, blue puree and soda water with fresh blueberries; classic, strawberry, banana and mango Tableside Daiquiris ($12) with Diplomático rum and lime juice; and a Painkiller ($13) with Diplomático rum, crème de coconut, pineapple and orange juices, topped with ground nutmeg. From the kitchen, there will be tropical bites including coconut shrimp ($17) with chili-apricot glaze; pan-seared jerk chicken ($24) with coconut rice and jalapeño-pineapple salsa; and bananas foster ($14) with seared bananas, butter-rum sauce, toasted pecans and vanilla ice cream.

Saturday from 8pm through midnight, DJ ETabz will be in the house mixing reggaeton and island music.
