After nearly four years in South Boston, Fresh Boston has announced it is temporarily closing its doors.

In a heartfelt message shared with customers, the Fresh Boston team said that the challenges small businesses have faced over the past few years ultimately became too difficult to overcome.

“This isn’t the ending we hoped for,” the restaurant shared, thanking its team, customers, neighbors, and the South Boston community for their support over the years.

The owners posted the following message on Instagram:

After nearly four incredible years, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close the doors of Fresh Boston.
This isn’t the ending we hoped for. Like so many small businesses, the challenges of the last few years proved greater than we could overcome. We poured everything we had into this restaurant, and while this chapter is coming to an end, we are incredibly proud of what we built together.

To our team and managers: thank you. You worked your tomatoes off every single day. Your hard work, dedication, kindness, and belief in Fresh Boston made this place what it was. We could never fully express how grateful we are for each of you.

To our customers, neighbors, and the South Boston community: thank you for welcoming us so warmly. What started as serving meals became so much more. So many of you became familiar faces, supporters, and friends. We celebrated milestones with you, shared conversations across the counter, and felt your support every step of the way. We made memories here that we will never forget.

Fresh Boston was never just a restaurant. It was a community — and that community is what we will cherish most.
Our Cambridge location will remain open, so you can still get your fix. Always support small business…. It’s the lifeblood of a community and they are becoming a dime a dozen.
