South Boston Obituary: James M. Wrick May 16, 1952 – June 6, 2026

Born in Cambridge and raised in South Boston, Massachusetts, Mike carried his love for Boston with him throughout his life and always considered Boston home. Mike was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston, he built a distinguished career with Allstate Insurance Company, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and the lasting relationships he built with colleagues and friends. Mike especially enjoyed keeping in touch with his work friends through regular phone calls. Even after moving to Atlanta, he never forgot the friendships he made throughout his career and treasured those friendships and conversations that remained an important part of his life. A lifelong New England Patriots fan, he faithfully followed the team through every season and proudly cheered them on no matter where he lived.
Above all else, Mike was a family man. His greatest accomplishment and deepest source of pride was the life he built with his beloved wife, Rose. Mike and Rose shared a remarkable love story built on devotion, partnership, laughter, and unwavering support. Married for 49 years, they were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this November. To those who knew them, theirs was a marriage defined by loyalty, respect, and enduring love. Mike was a devoted husband in every sense of the word, always putting Rose first and ensuring she knew how deeply she was loved.
Mike was also an extraordinary father. He was a constant source of strength, guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love for his four children. He taught by example, through hard work, integrity, kindness, and dedication to family. Whether offering advice, showing up when he was needed, or simply spending time together, Mike always made his children feel supported and loved throughout their lives. The bond he shared with them was one of his greatest joys, and they will carry his lessons and love with them forever.
After raising their children in Bedford, New Hampshire, Mike and Rose later moved to Sandy Springs, Georgia, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. The move to Georgia reflected what mattered most to him: family. Nothing brought Mike greater happiness than spending time with those he loved. Whether gathering for holidays, celebrating milestones, or
simply enjoying everyday moments together, he treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mike loved deeply and wholeheartedly. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren and found great joy in watching his family grow. His kindness, generosity, loyalty, sense of humor, and genuine care for others touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose (Palhete) Wrick; his children, Danielle Wrick Bartolozzi (Thomas), Michael Wrick (Jennifer), Brian Wrick (Elizabeth), and Michaela Wrick; his grandchildren, Ryan Bartolozzi, Jameson, Addyson, Emerson, Harrison, Ethan, and Eli Wrick; his step- granddaughters, Jada and Avri Bartolozzi; his brothers, Brian Wrick and John Wrick (Cindy); his sister, Mary Ryan (Kenny); his brother-in-law, George Palhete, and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by his mother, Marie E. (Higgins) Wrick; his father, James R. Wrick; his brother, Mark Wrick; his sister-in-law, Doreen Wrick; and his beloved in-laws, Tony and Angie Palhete, all who loved him dearly.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion to family, enduring friendships, and countless memories that will be cherished forever. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the example he set through his love, kindness, and commitment to those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
