South Boston Development News: 295 West First Street featuring a six-story building with 236 units.

Another big development project is moving forward on West First Street.
According to Boston Agent Magazine, an existing industrial building at 295 West First Street will be demolished to make way for a new six-story residential building with 236 housing units and nearly 6,000 square feet of publicly accessible open space.
The project, originally approved by the Boston Planning Department in 2024, also includes streetscape improvements such as new trees, raised crosswalks, bike storage for residents, and additional visitor bike parking.
Plans for the mixed-use development also include ground-floor community and retail space as part of the project’s “Yard on Second” concept.
