Sugar’s Hot Pizza to Open in Boston Seaport on May 15

New York–style slice shop from the team behind Stubbys brings pizza by the slice, deli sandwiches, and soft serve to the neighborhood
Boston, MA – May 07, 2026 – Boston Seaport by WS announces the upcoming opening of Sugar’s Hot Pizza, a New York–style pizza shop from the team behind Stubbys. Opening May 15, Sugar’s will introduce pizza by the slice, whole pies, deli-style sandwiches, and soft serve in a relaxed, walk-in setting.
Located just steps from Stubbys, Sugar’s brings a go-to pizza spot to Seaport; a casual, everyday destination designed for repeat visits. Visitors and locals can stop in for something quick, familiar, and reliably good.
“Sugar’s is about keeping it simple,” said Sugar’s owner, Saugat Mali. “We’ve spent the last few years getting to know the Seaport community through Stubbys, and one thing we heard again and again was that people wanted a true slice shop. This is our take on that, a place where you can walk in, grab a big slice, and know exactly what you’re getting every time.” The name comes from a nickname that emerged when Saugat’s name was frequently autocorrected to “Sugar,” and it ultimately stuck.
The menu centers on New York–style pizza, served by the slice and as whole pies, with a mix of classics and rotating specialties. Standouts include Classic Cheese and Pepperoni, a Vodka Sauce pie topped with chicken cutlets, and The Green Marnster with pesto, garlic aioli, mozzarella, and tomato. Hot Stuff brings the heat with jalapeño, capicola, red onion, and hot honey. In addition to a range of slices available daily, including the Sugar’s Slice, a classic New York–style cheese slice topped with dollops of creamy burrata and finished with basil, a rotating slice of the day will feature options like the Jerk Slice, inspired by flavors from Stubbys Jamaican jerk chicken.
Beyond pizza, the menu includes deli-style sandwiches inspired by Walter’s Deli, the team’s sister restaurant on Nantucket, known for its take on classic East Coast combinations. Highlights include The Godfather, stacked with Genoa salami, capicola, pepperoni, and provolone with hot pepper relish, lettuce, tomato, onion and Italian dressing, and The New Yorker with roasted turkey, pastrami, melted Swiss, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. The lineup also includes a Chopped Chicken Caesar with a golden chicken cutlet, parmesan, garlic aioli, romaine and more.
To finish, the menu features classic pizza shop desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth, including soft serve, oversized chocolate chip cookies, and brownie sundaes.
Sugar’s will have seating for 20 guests, along with seasonal outdoor seating. Located just across the plaza from Stubbys, the space opens to the courtyard through large accordion windows and features a community Polaroid wall, creating a casual, approachable environment.
Sugar’s builds on the success of Stubbys, offering a complementary experience nearby. Together, the two locations expand dining options throughout the day, from sit-down meals to quick slices, stacked sandwiches, and late-night bites.
“Sugar’s brings something essential to Seaport,” said Ariel Foxman, Area VP, Brand and Experience for Boston Seaport by WS Development. “Great pizza places have a way of becoming part of the daily rhythm of a neighborhood, somewhere people return to again and again. Sugar’s adds that kind of energy here with something approachable, consistent, and built for everyday.”
Sugar’s Hot Pizza will have a sneak preview on Seaport’s AAPI Give Back Day on May 13, opening for business officially on Friday, May 15.
Sugar’s Hot Pizza will be located at 29 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA 02210. Sugar’s will be open daily from 10 AM to 11 PM, with late-night hours to follow on weekends. Delivery will be available June 1 via your favorite food delivery app.
