BPD Officers Arrest Suspect on Firearm and Drug Related Charges Following Investigation in South Boston

At about 2:45 PM on Monday August 23, 2021, officers assigned to the District C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit arrested Rashad Phillips, 29, of Mattapan on firearm and drug related charges following a traffic stop in the area of 1262 Columbia Road in South Boston. The officers had stopped a vehicle which was being operated by the suspect when they recovered a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun along with over $1500.00 in U.S. Currency and other evidence as part of an ongoing investigation.

The suspect will appear in South Boston District Court on numerous charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Distribution of Class B Drugs.
