Happy 100th Birthday, Ed!

Friends, family and neighbors gathered on Thursday to celebrate Ed Kenney’s 100th Birthday!
Mr. Edward Kenney is a Southie veteran who served in the European theater in Sicily, and Normandy at D-Day on June 6th, 1944; and later, in the Pacific theater in the Battle of Okinawa. He then continued his lifetime of service as a City of Boston Firefighter working on the fire boats, Engine 1 in South Boston on Dorchester St, and later at the D Street Station.

City Councilors Ed Flynn and Michael Flaherty, along with State Rep. David Biele, Former Mayor Ray Flynn, and members of the Boston Fired Department were on hand to help celebrate his life and his service in the Navy during World War II!
