What is Quibi?
Basically, it’s a streaming platform that shows short-form (like really short – seven to ten minutes in length) scripted and unscripted content right on your cell phone. You subscribe and pay a monthly fee for the app. Quibi stands for quick bites.
What kinds of shows will be on it?
There will be everything from reality to drama including comedy, news and documentaries! Here’s a sampling: There’s a court show with Christy Teigan as the judge; a drama called Most Dangerous Game written and created by Stephen Spielberg; Dishmantled is a cooking game show hosted by Titus Burgess; Run this City is a doc-series following Jasiel Correia, the youngest mayor in Massachusetts history, who faces wire fraud and extortion prosecutions as he prepares for re-election; for comedy there’s Flipped – starring Will Forte and Kaitlin Olson as couple yearning to become TV’s next great home renovation show duo.
How much will it cost?
There are two tiers. If you chose to pay $5 per month, then you’ll see some ads. advertising Don’t want ads? No worries! It’ll cost you $8 per month. You can try it for three-months for free, if you sign up in April! Perfect for self quarantining.
