Field Hospital for COVID-19 at BCEC: Boston Hope Medical Center

Mayor Marty Walsh announced Thursday that the new field hospital at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Summer Street will be called Boston Hope Medical Center and should see its first patients this week. The center will feature 1000 beds, six acute-care suites, a physical therapy suite in addition to 52 nurses stations and 48 bathroom facilities. You can check out a video tour here.

BCEC will be designated for non-acute COVID-19 patients, giving them more time to recuperate while helping frontline hospitals with more room for other patients.
The build out of this field hospital is to prepare the city for an expected surge over the next few week.
