Another Update:

Universal Hub is reporting that The Broadway Golf Club has been approved for a beer + wine license by the city’s licensing board on Thursday!  Construction is still ongoing and the opening has been delayed but the Broadway Golf Club will be opening on West Broadway in the near future. More to follow!

Update:

Listen up, golf enthusiasts! The Broadway Golf Club will be opening this summer. Construction is ongoing in the 7,300 SF basement space on West Broadway, but owner (and Southie native) Danny Picard is targeting a Summer ‘23 open.

“I’m excited to show Southie what we’ve been working on with Broadway Golf Club. From the six state-of-the-art Trackman simulators to our “19th Hole” bar and sports lounge, it will be unlike anything else in the neighborhood. And I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” said Picard.

Original post:

In the real estate trend of developing every inch of the neighborhood, when we heard a golf course could be coming to the neighborhood, we were like, “where?”

Well, according to Universal Hub, the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a proposal for a “golf course” featuring 18 holes of simulated golf complete with a real-life “19th Hole” lounge.

The brainchild behind this ingenious idea is Southie’s own Danny Picard.  His plan is to transform the vacant 7,000-square-foot basement in the CVS building on West Broadway into six large separate rooms to where golfers can swing real clubs and balls at a computerized screen that will track their rounds. Each round is estimated to cost about $65.

In other Southie golf news, luxury indoor mini golf is coming to the Seaport.

Also great news for the newly launched South Boston Golf Club.

Get those clubs ready!

Old, and reused idea. Not for nothing but back in the 70s, there was the same cncept,, but you could select a different course, say, Congresssional, Oakmont, Pebble Beach ect, at the old Garden.

The virtual reality machines are extremely expensive. I did a survey for the North Conway C.C. A good system was 45k. Good luck with that!

Yes there was a Garden golf simulator in the 70’s. It was a blast, fun way to kill a couple of hours. Great way to groove your golf swing. Todays technology will make the experience even more life like. Danny is on to something here, particularly in the winter months. Best of luck to a young entrepreneur.
