Sweet! For more information visit: http://laughboston.com

Read:
November’s issue of Boston Magazine features a beautifully written story by Jennifer Roberts about growing up in Southie in the 1980’s.  Her feelings of isolation, confusion, and shame are captured articulately in her own words, in an essay about living in a tight-knit Irish neighborhood.  “I was a typical Southie kid, one of six, born to a single mother, raised in a triple-decker, surrounded by Whitey Bulger’s violence and fierce Irish pride. There was only one thing that kept me on the outside: Despite my mother’s claims to the contrary, we were black.” It is Jen’s story and it is a courageous one.  We highly recommend you read, “One of Us.”  You can find it here: http://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/article/2014/10/28/jennifer-roberts-i…
