Support:
Mary McKenna (13) and Delia Doherty (14) have been dancing since they were three years old at the Woods School of Irish Dance.  After qualifying in a national competition held in Nashville, TN, the girls are heading to the World Championship of Irish Step Dance in Belfast, Ireland. A celebration and fundraiser has been organized to wish the girls good luck on their journey.  This event will be held at The Seapoint Restaurant on Friday, March 9th at 7pm.  There will be Irish music, raffles and plenty of Irish step. Skate:
How’s your triple Salchow these days?   The Miss Ice O’Rama competition takes place on Sunday, March 11th as part of the South Boston Citizen’s Ice-O-Rama Day.  Also included in this fun filled event of old fashioned ice competition are a puck shooting, speed skating, and of course the legendary Miss Ice O’Rama competition. 

Trivia:
If you know the answers to questions like, which president had the most pets in the White House or
what do you suffer from if you have misopedia, then head out for trivia tonight. Wolfie’s is now featuring Stumps Trivia on Sunday nights at 8pm. So gather up the gang, share some appetizers and test your trivia knowledge. 

Culture:
In the spirit of traditional Irish art form, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at a spectacular event.  A Celtic Concert in the  Chapel features Irish music, songs, poems and stories from the old country.  The backdrop is the the historic and beautiful St. Augustine’s Chapel.  This event takes place on Friday, March 9th at 7:30pm. Highlight of the evening will be Katie McD and the Irish Cross Country Band.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  All proceeds will help benefit the South Boston Youth Ambassadors “Young at Arts” program.  For tickets call Linda Doran at 617-464-7463.

See legendary Southie artist Norman Crump work his craft on Saturday, March 10th at 9:30am.  Norman will be the featured artists at the South Boston Arts Association monthly meeting.  The painting demo will take place at the L Street Bathhouse (M Street entrance).  Coffee and refreshments will be served.
