Blue ribbons as popping up on doors, railings, telephone poles, flower pots and fences all over Southie in support of  Colin McGrath, the little boy who died tragically after an accident at L and 6th in Southie last week.

The blue ribbons can be purchased at Stapleton’s Floral on East Broadway.   It’s a simple way to show your love and support!

A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11am at Gate of Heaven Church. A private burial will follow.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Colin’s name to South Boston Catholic Academy or “simply live one day with pure joy in your heart like Colin lived each day.” This quote was taken from Colin’s obituary.

Organizers are also looking for painted rocks with messages of love and hope for the family who lost their son last week at L and 6th.   Recently someone stole a planter from the family’s front stoop. Soon after, they found a painted rock in its place that simply read “love.”  You can learn more about this here.

Are sales of these ribbons going to the McGrath family or Stapleton’s?
