Corned beef and cabbage just like Nana used to make. The Seapoint (367 East Eighth Street) is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 15th serving the traditional meal of irish immigrants – corned beef and cabbage. The 35 year old family run South Boston business will also be featuring live irish music all day.
Drink:
Raise your glass! It’s St. Patrick’s Day Weekend in Southie and what better to fill that glass with but South Boston Irish Whiskey handmade right here in Southie. Grand Ten Distilling just launched their new 80 proof whiskey and its available to purchase at the distillery at 383 Dorchester Ave. or at Social Wines (52 West Broadway).

The morning will begin with the traditional St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast with a not so traditional host this year. Senator Linda Dorcena Forry (https://caughtinsouthie.com/people/characterofmonth/linda-dorcena-forry#.UxYCX_bJA1g) is making history this St. Patrick’s Day in South Boston.
As the first ever black woman and Dorcheseter resident, Dorcena Forry will be a breath of fresh air as the host of the 70 year-old St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast. The Breakfast will be broadcasted live on New England Cable News (NECN) starting at 10am on Sunday March 16th.
Dance:
Jig or a reel? MJ O’Connor’s on the Waterfront (425 Summer Street) is wishing you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day with live Irish music on Saturday, March 15th from 9pm-1am. Fiddler’s Green will be playing on Monday, March 17th from 3pm-9pm. Cheer:
Parade Day kicks off with the annual running of the SB Boys and Girls Club Road Race. Show runners and walkers your Southie spirit by getting out there and rooting for them. Be aware that there will be traffic delays and street closings to accommodate the race from 11am-12pm on East and West Broadway. The race begins at the Boys and Girls Club on West Sixth Street – expect traffic and large crowds in that area from 9am-12pm.
Bake:
