Eat:

Drink:
Escape the four walls of your home and head to the Seaport District to the Wine Festival to catch a buzz! The fun will be uncorked at The annual Boston Wine Expo will take place at the Seaport World Trade Center (200 Seaport Blvd.) on Saturday, February 14th and Sunday, February 15th.  Events include the grand tasting of more than 1,800 wines, cooking dooms and samplings with 14 celebrity chefs, guided tastings and seminars, silent auctions and meet-and-greets with wine makers.  For ticket information go to http://www.wine-expos.com/boston/

Shop:

Play:
(UPDATE: – This Event has been postponed until February 20th-22nd.)  All this snow doesn’t have to be a big bummer!  Winter on D’s Slope Fest (February 20th -22nd) promises to bring you some needed F-U-N – fun!  This three-day wintertime festival features a two-story-high snow slope for tubing, downhill winter sport exhibitions on the slope, a custom-designed illuminated bar carved out of ice by Boston’s Frost Ice Bar, a ‘Ice Bubble Fest’ for families and the young at heart, a hot Latin dance party and more!  For more details visit: https://caughtinsouthie.com/arts-entertainment/winter-d%E2%80%99s-slope-fest-mountains-come-southie

Dream of warmer weather and go see The New England Boat show at the Boston Convention Center. Spend the day looking at boats, yachts, schooners, and nautical displays galore. If your wealthy enough to purchase one, good for you!  If your like the rest of us, you can spend the day dreaming of the one you’ll buy when you hit the Power Ball. Dance:
Going stir crazy thinking about another night in? Head to the Seapoint and kick it old school Southie-style at Seapoint (367 East Eighth Street).  Revisit the good old days and enjoy Southie DJ legend Dru Erico as he spins the tunes at Seapoint on Sunday, February 15th beginning at 8pm.   Plan on dancing the night away to such local favorites like Happy Radio and Young Hearts Run Free.  You can dance in your boots, right?  No cover charge.  Plenty of parking!

Sweets:
Social Wines (52 West Broadway) is hosting two Valentine’s pop-ups this weekend at their tastings! On Friday, February 13th from 5:30pm-8pm come try some locally handmade bars from Fixx Chocolates. They’ll be pairing rich and delicious Lambrusco from Cantina Della Volta with each bar.  On Saturday, February 14th from 2pm-5pm a Southie favorite, Miam Miam Macaronerie will be sampling their colorful and delicious cookies paired with a sparkling rose!
 
Shovel:
Has your shovel been getting a workout? Upgrade yours at Economy Hardware – they have some in stock along with other snow essentials like ice scrappers, ice melt and even sleds!  We’ll bet they even have safety cones for spot savers!

Sled:

Workout:

Pledge:
Take the Caught in Southie’s Good Neighbor Pledge.  Introduce yourself to the people who live next door to you.  Help shovel out your neighbor’s car.  Clear the sidewalk in front of your house, even though you might just rent an apartment.  Shop local.  Pick up trash if you see some on the street.  Check in on your elderly neighbors – see if they need something at the supermarket.  Smile and say good morning.  Join your neighborhood civic association and get involved.
