From one Boston icon to another, Samuel Adams will help Boston celebrate the remarkable career of Boston Red Sox all-star David Ortiz with an extremely limited release brew – Big Hapi – available only on Friday November 4th at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery. The Sam Adams brewers are stepping up to the plate with a bold mango juice-infused double IPA to pay tribute to one of the best athletes to ever play the game, and thank him for all the incredible memories he’s given Red Sox fans.  We’ll drink to that!  Only 541 bottles will be available – one for each homerun Big Papi crushed out of the park throughout his 19 year career. Big Hapi will be available exclusively at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery, and all proceeds from the sale of the beer with go to The David Ortiz Children’s Fund. How awesome is that!

Do:
Sell your stuff at South Boston Catholic Academy on Saturday, November 5th from 9-3.  Help kick off the inaugural tag sale at SBCA.  Rent a table where the kids can sell their old clothes, toys, sporting equipment and other items.  Kids keep 50% of the sales to save or spend, 25% to the student’s family and the remaining 25% goes to SBCA.  It’s a great way to raise funds and teach kids about money management skills!  There will be coffee, tea, refreshments and food from a food truck! $10 per table rental!  Stop by and shop too!  You never know what you’ll find – exactly what you didn’t know what you were looking for!

Shop:
Get a jump on your Christmas list at the Boston Christmas Festival this weekend a the Seaport World Trade Center.  This fun-filled event will feature handcrafted gifts, holiday decorations, jewelry, clothing, pottery, folk art, and gourmet specialty food.   Tickets are $10.  For more information visit their website!  Kicking off the festival is an good old fashioned gingerbread house competition.  Top chefs from area restaurants, bakeries and culinary schools will put their dessert skills to the test as they compete in the 22nd Annual Gingerbread House Competition to benefit Housing Families, Inc. – a non-profit organization dedicated to ending family homelessness in Massachusetts.  This battle of gingerbread and icing will go down on Friday, November 6th from 10am to 12noon.  The sweet and tasty creations will be judged by a local celebrity panel including Caught in Southie’s own Maureen Dahill and her son Henry Gailunas (12 years old).  Sweet!

Watch:
The Bruins face off agains the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night at 7:30pm.  On Saturday it’s the New York Rangers at 7pm.  The Celtics play the Cavaliers on Thursday at 8pm and Sunday at 7:30 against the Nuggets.  The Pats are on a bye week.  Wondering where to watch the game?  We’ve got some suggestions!
