New restaurant alert: Sapóre Ristorante + Bar is now open at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel!  Debuting inside the former M.C. Spiedo space, the restaurant will be helmed by Executive Chef Andrew Voss, featuring locally procured seafood, hand-made pastas, freshly-baked Neapolitan pizza and inventive, seasonal specials!

Drink:
Raise your glass to summer in Southie!  The beaches in Southie have been packed.  Before you hit the beach, make plan on where to go after the beach in the neighborhood!  Check out our guide to Apres Beach hot spots in Southie filled will picks on where to get an iced cold beer or cocktail and maybe a little something to eat!

Shop:

Ride:
Gather up the kids, get the bikes ready and participate in the Boston Kids PMC Ride on Saturday, June 25th at Pope John Park in Dorchester! Registration starts at 9 am (or pre-register online) and cycling starts at 10 am. There’s loads of fun after the ride including raffle prizes and a BBQ generously sponsored by Daman Distribution. Riders must commit to raising $25 for the event separate from the registration fee.

Support:
Help support a local institution, the Harry McDonough Sailing Center at Castle Island.  On Friday, June 24th from 6pm-9pm, join the mother-load of Boston politicians including: Mayor Martin Walsh, Congressman Stephen Lynch, State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, State Rep Nick Collins, State Rep Dan Hunt, City Councilor Bill Linehan, City Councilor Michael Flaherty, City Councilor Frank Baker, along with the board of directors of the sailing center, for a summertime cocktail reception at the sailing center located at Pleasure Bay.  Enjoy food, drinks and live entertainment seaside.  Suggestion donations: Crew Members $100, Captain’s Club $150 (Couple), Commodore $250 and Admiral $500.

See:
Speaking of boats.  “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” Narraganset Beer – Quint’s choice of beer – is hosting a special showing of the classic movie Jaws on Friday, June 24th at the Lawn on D.  Gates open at 5pm.  Movie begins at 8:30pm.  DJ Ryan Brown will be spinning from 5pm-8pm.  Don’t forget your beach chair or blanket!

Breath:
Anne Marie from Indulge Day Spa is spreading her wings and opening a new Kundalini Yoga Room at 137 Emerson Street! Play:
Family Fun Pick! Come on our for a day of good old fashioned family fun on Farragut Road on Saturday, June 25th at the Donny Higgins Memorial Street Hockey and Family Fun Day!  The day kicks off with a day-long street hockey tournament at the outdoor rink. Whether you play or watch and cheer, this will be an exciting day of sportsmanship.  There will be also be kids activities, a DJ, and refreshments beginning at 12pm.  . Workout:
Work out at the the Lawn on D!  Equinox is stepping out of the clubs and onto The Lawn on D for a new summer workout series.  One Sunday a month from June through September 2016, Equinox’s expert group fitness instructors will lead a group of members and non-members alike through an hour-long signature group fitness class on The Lawn on D.  Each workout will be held from 10:30AM-11:30AM. Following the class participants can enjoy some well-deserved down-time and Lawn on D’s amenities including concessions and complimentary games. This week’s class is “The Cut.” This summer series is open to both Equinox members and non-members and is complimentary for members. Non-members are asked to make a $15 donation to Cycle for Survival, a nationwide movement to beat rare cancers. 100 percent of the funds donated go to research studies and clinical trials to change the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. We say stick around after the workout and a have few beers and toast to summer in Southie!  You can register for classes here!
