September 6th

Eat:
Breakfast is back.  Beginning September 7th, the Seapoint  (367 East Eighth) brings back their popular breakfast from 10a-1pm.   From Irish breakfast to a breakfast burrito, the Seapoint serves up your favorites.  Their mile-high Bloody Marys and tasty Mimosas are worth a try too.  Stick around for the game later.

Drink:
Last call for the Quencher Tavern! The legendary Quencher Tavern (170 I Street)  will close its doors in November.  Whether it’s your hundredth time in the Q or your first time, stop by and have a drink this weekend.  It’s one of our favorite old school Southie bars and the Quencher will be missed!

Vogue:
Stop by the First Friday celebration at the ICA for a non-stop evening of riveting performance throughout the museum, including voguing competitions, beatboxing performances, music sets by DJ Knife and the final ICO at the ICA with ocean-fresh fare by Island Creek Oysters!  Continue the festivities at the high-energy neighborhood spot, Tavern Road (343 Congress Street), where the open kitchen churns out global street-food inspired fare from 10:00 pm — 1:00 am with beer, wine and artful cocktails flowing until 2:00 am!

Shop:
Ku De Ta is ushering in fall with lots of new clothing an accessories – not to mention their amazing denim section.  But as fall enters the scene, Ku De Ta says good-bye to summer with a 25% off sale on maxi-dresses.  Stylists tip: Just because fall is here doesn’t mean you have to put away your maxis – pair it with a denim or leather jacket.  Or even wear it with an oversized slouchy sweater for that neo-grunge look that’s big this season.  

Parade:
We love a parade!  It’s the annual South Boston Youth Soccer Parade on Thursday, September 5th at 6pm.  Stop by the Moakley Park Soccer Field and watch the youth of South Boston parade around the field sporting their new uniforms.  Hip, hip, hooray!

Celebrate:
In celebration of Recovery Month, a special night of hope and inspiration is planned for Friday, September 6th from 6pm-9pm a the IBEW Hall in Dorchester (256 Freeport Street). Listen to inspiration speakers share their stories including Ken Casey from the Dropkick Murphy’s and former Boston Celtics player Chris Herren.   Special Honoree of the evening is candidate for mayor and State Representative Marty Walsh.  The night will be hosted by local comedic legend Steve Sweeney.

Last Hurrah:
As the summer winds down, why not spend one last night on the beach.  The City Point Neighborhood Association will like to invite you to their  End of Summer Beach Party on Saturday, September 7th 11am-2pm at Marine Park. There will be food, fun, an aquarium touch tank and painting with legendary Southie artist Dan McCole. This event is brought to you by the CPNA, Sullivan’s at Castle Island and Save the Harbor, Save the Bay.  Sounds like fun to us!

Standout:

    In the last hurrah, don’t for get “cool leather jackets for men” it gets nippy in the Fall. Especically at the beach. Save the bay. Sounds like surfrider event? cool leather jackets for men
