The Oliver H. Perry School(745 East Seventh Street) is hosting a special family friendly fundraiser.  The first annual Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 13th from 12pm-4pm at the Perry Schoolyard.  There will be lots of fun activities including a bouncy castle, pony rides ($2), face painting ($1), pumpkin decorating ($5), games, food and music.  Admission is free!  All proceeds go to the Perry School.? ?The Fall Festival committee is looking for volunteers.  If you’d like to help out, please contact Christin at [email protected]?

Eat:
Bring it on, New York!  It’s the battle of the food trucks as the Food Truck Throwdown Boston vs. New York takes place on Saturday, October 13th from 11am-9pm.  There will be food competitions all day as well as live music and local celebrity judges Bill Costa and Jenny Johnson from NECN’s TV Diner.   Admission is free.  Boston Contenders: Bon Me, Kickass Cupcakes, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Mei Mei Street Kitchen, Lobsta Love, Staff Meal and the Cookie Monstah?NYC Contenders: Wafels and Dinges, Nuchas, The Munchie Mobile, Mike N’ Willie’s, Fishing Shrimp, Bian Dang, Big D’s Grub

Kick it old school with a Sunday family dinner.  Sportello (348 Congress Street) plays host to Spaghetti Sundays where for $45 it’s an all-you-can-eat three course food fest.  Sundays from 4:30-11 p.m.?

Drink:
Stop by Telegraph Hill  (289 Dorchester Street) for a craft beer on tap.  Telegraph Hill also has an extensive appetizer menu featuring their famous nachos and crab stuffed mushrooms.  A perfect pairing with an ice cold Harpoon draft. 

Wolfie’s is embracing the crisp air of fall with a new featured cocktail.  Get warmed up with the butterscotch truffle martini consisting of vanilla vodka, butterscotch schnapps and white creme de cacao, garnished with a chocolate drizzle.  ?

Culture:

Opening reception for T H E   S O U N D   O F   S I N G I N G   T H R O U G H   D U S T – an installation of hand-made slides and film loops by Luther Price on Saturday, October 13, at 6pm and film screening at 8pm.  This event takes place at Studio Soto (10 Channel Center Street).  The installation will be on view thru October28th.  For more information visit http://www.studiosoto.org/
