Filming for “Black Mass” – the film about notorious Southie mobster James “Whitey” Bulger –  will begin at the end of this month.  Johnny Depp has been casted as Bulger along with Australian actor Guy Pearce will play former Senate president Bill Bulger.  Scott Cooper of “Crazy Heart” fame will direct the Cross Creek Pictures production.

According to the Boston Herald Inside Track, Jesse Plemmons – who played the unassuming yet creepy meth cook from “Breaking Bad” will play Bulger sidekick Kevin Weeks.  British actress Juno Temple will play Deborah Hussey, the stepdaughter and girlfriend of  Stephen “The Rifleman” Flemmi.  Fellow Aussie actor Joel Edgerton of “Zero Dark Thirty” has been casted to play FBI agent  gone bad John Connolly.  Soon to be star Dakota Johnson, who will be starring in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is rumored to play Bulger’s girlfriend.

So be on the lookout for Hollywood stars in Southie!  We can’t wait!

But the whole thing is gross.  People in Southie should decide if this guy is a criminal, or someone they love to gossip and talk about.

obviously the guy is a criminal and scumbag. but just like an italian mobster who comitted crimes, as time goes on they become  romanticised in societies history to a degree. no need to throw a fit about it.  its just a big part of southies history.
